A non-judgmental, hope-filled community for all who need to hear and tell true stories about church hurt, burnout, or abuse.
Doesn’t it seem like, every time you open up your news feed, another church leader somewhere is at the center of a scandal? Affairs, misuse of funds, and #metoo moments—there’s always another reason to say “good riddance” to the church.
Every time you see one of these stories, you vow to yourself, “I’ll never go back there. And I’ll absolutely never take a loved one with me.”
But it wasn’t always this way for you. You used to love being in church. The music, the people, the purpose—you experienced something authentic. Something in you changed, and it meant the world to you.
But that all turned to dust. You felt manipulated, got hurt, or experienced trauma. You tried to share your struggles, but you felt silenced.
Your story no longer fit their narrative, so you were pushed aside. The church you loved was no longer a safe place for the real you.
There should be a place to finally tell that story.
A place to hear from others, too. To open up the floor to those who experienced the hurt, difficulty, and confusion many of us have in common.
It’s time to find a way to heal—to join with those whose experience doesn’t fit the narrative, so no one feels like they’re alone again. And it’s time to help churches understand what’s needed to feel safe enough to return, heart and soul.
For too long, you’ve only heard one side of the story. It’s time for all of us to speak up and share the stories you can only hear if you’re willing to listen to The Other Side of the Church.
No judgment. No Prescriptions.
